About the position

As a Patient Care Aide (PCA) at Avenues Home Care of East Tennessee, you will play a crucial role in providing care for elderly, vulnerable, and disabled clients who often cannot care for themselves. Your primary responsibility will be to assist clients with their daily living activities while ensuring their needs are prioritized. This position requires a compassionate approach and adherence to high standards of service as you work closely with clients in various locations across Northeast Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
• Provide medication assistance and support with housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and transportation to appointments.
• Report daily activities to supervisors through the agency management system and maintain communication as needed.
• Practice safety in all activities concerning clients and report any suspected abuse or neglect immediately.
• Document any unusual behavior or conditions and maintain confidentiality of client information.
• Attend meetings and in-services as requested and abide by company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess a valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
• CNA License or equivalent experience as a caregiver preferred.
• CPR & First Aid Certifications preferred.
• Effective communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written assignments.
• Proficiency with Homecare Company Management System.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience assisting with ADLs or caring for elderly, disabled, and other vulnerable clients.
