About the position
The Patient Care Assistant Attendant at UnityPoint Health is a full-time role focused on providing compassionate, person-centered care to older adults, individuals with disabilities, and seniors with dementia. The position involves assisting participants with daily living activities, leading engaging activities, and ensuring compliance with healthcare program regulations. The role is situated within a supportive team environment that values dedication and innovation in care delivery.
Responsibilities
- Assist participants with activities of daily living and personal care needs.
- Implement and lead engaging activities for participants.
- Ensure compliance with federally funded healthcare program requirements regarding fraud, waste, and abuse.
- Demonstrate a positive and cooperative attitude while adapting to meet department goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure complete service to all customers.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Two years of experience working with the mental health and/or behavioral health population preferred.
- Valid Iowa Driver's License required.

- Interest in working with people diagnosed with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and/or dementia.
