About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) plays a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Pediatric ICU at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. This position is essential in ensuring age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for patients, contributing to a high-performance team, and maintaining high patient satisfaction scores. The PCA is expected to demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and effective interpersonal skills while adhering to hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED certificate.
• Successful completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program or Medical Assisting (MA) program, or completion of School of Nursing Fundamentals.
• Minimum six months nursing assistant or MA experience preferred.
• Demonstrated competencies in fundamentals of patient care.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to read, write legibly, and speak in English (Spanish preferred).
• Proficient in using computer software programs necessary for the position.
