About the position
The Patient Care Assistant II role at HSHS involves providing both direct and non-direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The position emphasizes understanding and responding to the unique needs of patients while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Assist with non-direct patient care tasks as per scope of practice.
- Understand and respond to the unique needs of all patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure safe patient care.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- 1 year of experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
- CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) or PCT (Patient Care Technician) certification in state of practice is preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 30 days upon hire.
