About the position
The Patient Care Assistant II in the Intensive Care Unit at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital is responsible for providing direct and non-direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This part-time role involves working in a fast-paced environment, supporting patients in achieving their highest level of wellness while being a comforting presence on the care team. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including day shifts and weekend rotations.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Assist with non-direct patient care tasks as needed.
- Act as a versatile member of the care team, offering clinical support.
- Help achieve patients' highest level of wellness.
- Perform assigned preceptor duties as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- 1 year of nursing assistant or Patient Care Assistant experience; or 6 months of experience with certification as a CNA or PCT.
- Certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the state of practice is required with 6 months experience.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 30 days upon hire.
