This entry-level position involves a variety of routine tasks delegated by registered nurses (RNs), ensuring that patients receive the necessary assistance and care during their stay.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance in transporting, transferring, and lifting patients.
- Perform cleaning functions in the patient care unit as delegated.
- Conduct selected diagnostic tests as assigned.
- Monitor and record vital signs of patients.
- Assist in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs to patients.
- Accurately measure, record, and report patient intake and output.
- Obtain and record daily weight of patients.
- Perform blood glucose testing using a blood glucose meter.
- Report changes in patient's status promptly to the RN.
- Act as a patient care companion when needed.
- Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge process of patients.
- Perform unit housekeeping needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of direct patient care experience.
- PALS Certification (based on location assignment).
- BLS Certification (based on location assignment).
- ACLS Certification (based on location assignment).
