About the position

The Patient Care Coordinator/Medical Front Office role is essential for ensuring a smooth patient experience at the clinic. This position involves greeting patients, managing the check-in and check-out processes, scheduling appointments, and handling phone communications. The coordinator plays a vital role in maintaining patient records and facilitating efficient clinic operations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for check in and check out.
  • Input patient information into EHR/EMR.
  • Collect and post payments to patient accounts.
  • Answer phones and emails in conjunction with normal clinic duties.
  • Manage the schedule and flow of patients.
  • Communicate with management on problem solving.
  • Obtain eligibility, pre-certs and benefits for patients.
  • Provide back up to answer multi-line phone courteously and promptly.
  • Check patient balances the day before the appointment in order to facilitate efficient balance collection at check-in.
  • Obtain Worker's Comp, Medicaid and VA authorization for office visits and drug screens.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer relations background in a medical setting.
  • Prior EMR/EHR software experience with medical terminology and coding exposure.

Nice-to-haves

  • eClinicalWorks experience preferred.
