About the position
The Patient Care Coordinator at VitalCare Family Practice is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, managing appointment scheduling, and assisting with various administrative tasks in a medical office environment. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and efficient operations within the practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to patients at all times.
- Greet patients upon arrival and check them in for their appointments.
- Handle patient registration, including demographics and insurance information.
- Collect patient co-pays and outstanding balances.
- Check patients out and assist in making follow-up appointments.
- Obtain referrals for insurance plans that require them.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and take messages for patients.
- Balance daily deposits and assist with billing as requested.
- Complete any additional projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of medical office experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical office protocols and procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, particularly Eclinical works is a plus.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations.
- Proficient in using computer software in a Windows environment.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- 3 years of customer service experience preferred.
