About the position

The Patient Care Coordinator at Alate Health is responsible for overseeing the care of patients referred from nursing homes for specific procedures. This role involves managing insurance verification, scheduling appointments, arranging transportation, and maintaining communication with nursing homes and the marketing team to ensure patient satisfaction. The ideal candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills, with a preference for Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance to ensure in-network status with the patient's plan.
• Obtain insurance benefits for required services and prior authorizations as needed.
• Schedule patients for appropriate procedures and coordinate transportation if necessary.
• Track the status of patients and communicate with nursing homes and families regarding procedures and scheduling.
• Ensure satisfaction of nursing homes and patients by maintaining clear communication and addressing any issues that arise.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years of medical office experience with insurance verification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Experience with Medicare and Medicaid replacement plans.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a medical front office setting.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
