About the position
The Patient Care Coordinator will be an integral part of a small private practice, responsible for ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for patients. This role emphasizes empathy, attention to detail, and teamwork, contributing to a positive environment for both patients and staff. The coordinator will handle various administrative tasks, including patient communication, insurance verification, and appointment scheduling, while supporting the overall growth and technological advancement of the practice.
Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients as they enter the clinic and communicating their arrival to the relevant care-team members.
- Handling incoming calls and messages, addressing or triaging requests such as appointment scheduling, form completion, and medication refills.
- Verifying patient insurance via phone or online and collecting applicable copays for services.
- Assisting with scheduling follow-up and referral appointments.
- Preparing and submitting accurate insurance claims within required timeframes.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with patients empathetically.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual in Spanish.
