About the position

The Patient Care Operations Coordinator at ProHealth Care is responsible for coordinating and planning patient throughput activities, ensuring timely bed assignments, and collaborating with various departments to optimize patient care. This role requires a nursing generalist with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage patient cues effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide coordination and planning of patient throughput activities.
• Efficiently manage the patient cue to ensure timely bed assignments.
• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) to find and assign beds efficiently.
• Review and provide input to updating patient placement guidelines and processes.
• Determine shift staffing strategies in partnership with nursing leadership/charge nurses.
• Collaborate with Surgeons/Anesthesiologists to coordinate surgical cases based on patient acuity.
• Deploy patient resources required in collaboration with outpatient nursing departments.
• Provide patient care clinical support as needed, including IV starts and patient transportation.
• Respond to all code situations and ensure immediate follow-up through debriefings.
• Provide constructive feedback to nursing leadership regarding staff performance or unit operations.
• Comply with hospital and department-specific patient safety and quality goals.
• Assist in planning and implementing policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• WI RN Licensure
• BLS Certification (AHA)
• ACLS and PALS Certifications preferred
