The Patient Care Tech at INTEGRIS Health, located in the 4E Mother Baby Unit, is responsible for performing delegated direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This occasional part-time position requires the individual to adhere to population-specific competencies and National Patient Safety Goals, ensuring a high standard of care for patients. The role involves a variety of personal care tasks, including but not limited to mouth care, bathing, perineal care, and assisting with mobility. The Patient Care Tech plays a crucial role in maintaining patient safety, which includes verifying identification, adhering to fall protocols, and ensuring a restful environment for patients. Additionally, the position may involve performing treatments such as urinary catheter care and enema administration, as well as transporting medications as needed. The Patient Care Tech must be prepared to work in an environment that may expose them to infections, communicable diseases, and various environmental hazards. They are expected to follow standard precautions and be aware of the physical demands of the job, which include constant standing and walking, as well as the ability to lift and carry medium weights. Effective communication skills are essential, as the Patient Care Tech must interact with patients and healthcare staff regularly.
