About the position

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) serves as a clinical support partner within the patient care team, assisting with various tasks and procedures under the guidance of licensed professionals. This role is crucial in providing exceptional care to residents in a warm and welcoming environment, particularly at the Residential Living Center at Holy Rosary Healthcare. The position involves direct interaction with patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being while also supporting the healthcare team in daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient care needs by answering call lights and assisting patients with hygiene care.
• Obtains vital signs and communicates effectively with the care team.
• Performs 12-lead EKG duties as trained and competent.
• Applies, checks, and documents restraints as directed by the RN or physician.
• Performs wound care, stoma care, and specimen collection.
• Manages equipment and tube care, including JPs, hemovacs, and nasogastric tubes.
• Assists with patient transfers, admissions, and discharges following safe handling principles.
• Orders and maintains office and patient care supplies.
• Maintains patient charts and responds to phone calls as unit secretary.
• Assists physicians and RNs as directed.

Requirements

• Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program.
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Montana.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire.
