About The Position

The Patient Care Tech I position at AdventHealth Winter Garden involves assisting professional nurses in delivering patient care and performing daily living activities for specific age groups. Requirements

• BLS certification is required.
• Nursing Assistant training or successful completion of practical nurse fundamentals or comparable experience is required.
• Must be cross-trained in one of the following areas: Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), Monitor Tech, or Phlebotomy.
• Florida Nursing Assistant Certification, Certified Patient Care Technician, or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant with comparable hospital experience is required.
• For specific cost centers, Florida RN license or Paramedic/EMT certification is acceptable.

Nice To Haves

• High school graduate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing specific duties and activities of daily living under the supervision of a professional nurse.
• Participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships with all individuals.
• Document and report all procedures accurately in accordance with department policy.
• Assist in obtaining nursing histories and report abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Help identify patient needs and contribute to the development or modification of care plans.
• Perform treatments according to established policies and procedures.
• Provide patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Function appropriately in clinical emergencies and support quality standards set by the department.
• Follow CDC isolation guidelines and demonstrate appropriate use of PPE.
• Exhibit a desire to learn and upgrade skills, performing other duties as assigned.
