About the position
The Patient Care Tech II at AdventHealth is responsible for assisting professional nurses in delivering patient care and performing daily living activities for specific age groups. This role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to compliance standards, and a commitment to outstanding customer service, all while supporting the holistic well-being of patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Document and report all procedures accurately in accordance with department policy.
- Participate in obtaining nursing histories and report abnormalities to the RN.
- Assist in identifying patient needs and developing/modifying care plans.
- Perform treatments according to policy and procedure, providing age-appropriate care.
- Function appropriately in clinical emergencies and support quality standards set by the department.
- Follow CDC isolation guidelines and enforce safety regulations.
- Exhibit a desire to learn and upgrade skills, performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BLS certification is required.
- Nursing Assistant training or successful completion of practical nurse fundamentals or comparable experience is required.
- Must be cross-trained in Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), Monitor Tech, or Phlebotomy.
- Florida Nursing Assistant Certification, Certified Patient Care Technician, or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant with comparable hospital experience is required.
- For specific cost centers, Florida RN license or Paramedic/EMT certification is acceptable.
