About the position
The Patient Care Technician at HSHS is responsible for providing both direct and non-direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role is essential in ensuring safe and effective patient care by understanding and responding to the unique needs of patients while collaborating with the healthcare team. The position requires working full-time on a day shift schedule, including weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Assist with non-direct patient care tasks as per scope of practice.
- Understand and respond to the unique needs of all patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure safe patient care.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Graduate of an approved school for Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or successful completion of a Patient Care Technician program or an Active EMT license is required.
- 1 year of experience in patient or clinical care may be considered in lieu of education.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
