About the position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) role at Endeavor Health is a full-time position focused on providing essential support to nursing staff and ensuring quality patient care. The PCT will engage with patients and visitors, assist with daily living activities, and perform various clinical tasks under the supervision of registered nurses and licensed practical nurses. This position is vital in maintaining patient safety and comfort while contributing to a collaborative healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and visitors, answering call lights and assisting within the facility.
• Perform purposeful hourly rounding on all assigned patients.
• Assist in the ambulation and repositioning of patients using safe handling techniques.
• Provide basic nursing care, including assistance with personal care needs such as bathing, grooming, and feeding.
• Assist with room setup for new patients and support discharges and transfers.
• Accurately document patient care activities, including vital signs and intake/output measurements.
• Perform procedures such as urinary catheter removal and ECGs under nurse supervision.
• Collect non-sterile specimens and perform point of care blood sugar testing as directed.
• Support nursing teams with indirect patient care activities, including restocking and cleaning equipment.

Requirements

• Eligible to work in the US.
• Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred.
• Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association, or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
