About the position

The Patient Care Tech position at INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center involves providing direct patient care to individuals in the Oncology Med Surg unit during night shifts. The role is essential in supporting the healthcare team and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The position emphasizes adherence to patient safety goals and requires specific competencies related to the patient population served.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated direct patient care activities to an assigned group of patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals based on the level of patient contact required.
• Complete department-specific competencies during the orientation process.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification or completion within 90 days.
• Successful completion of a recognized nursing assistant course or an accredited nursing program with skills lab or clinical rotation.
• Verification of nursing course completion via transcript or official notice required.
• 3 months of employment in an INTEGRIS patient care area with training and observation for nursing assistant duties, or 12 months of nursing assistant experience in an acute care facility, nursing home, home care setting, or long-term care facility.
• Prior hospital corpsman medical training in the military is acceptable.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
