About the position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is responsible for providing essential care to patients under the supervision of licensed clinical staff. This role involves demonstrating competency in various treatments, procedures, and equipment relevant to the clinical setting, ensuring adherence to hospital policies while caring for patients across all age groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed clinical staff.
• Assist with treatments and procedures as directed by clinical staff.
• Demonstrate competency with medical equipment and procedures appropriate to the clinical setting.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures in patient care.
• Support patients from birth through the lifecycle.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Entry-level experience in patient care is acceptable.
• Certification from a Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician program is preferred.
• One year of patient care experience is preferred.
