About the position

The Patient Care Technician - CICU at Providence plays a dual role as both a Patient Care Technician and Unit Secretary, providing essential clerical support to nursing staff while delivering basic nursing care to in-patients and out-patients. This position is crucial in facilitating patient care and ensuring accurate documentation and communication with the supervising RN.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care for in-patients and out-patients as needed.
• Assist nursing staff with clerical support to facilitate patient care.
• Collect and report information to the supervising RN.
• Complete all patient care related documentation.

Requirements

• Completion of a CNA program, or first semester nursing program, or EMT program completion.
• National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
• Experience with basic data entry.

Nice-to-haves

• Satisfactory completion of a medical terminology course.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• 1 year of acute patient care experience, or 6 months experience in a direct patient care environment.
