About the position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Emergency Department (ED) at Nuvance Health is responsible for providing direct patient care and support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. This part-time position focuses on ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff while performing essential nursing skills and tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing skills encompassing patient care and related tasks under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Provide direct quality care and service to patients of all ages.
• Ensure a safe, quiet, and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
• Demonstrate accountability for job responsibilities and functions.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• CNA preferred.
• BLS certification for health care provider within 3 months and recertification annually.
• Recent experience as a nurse aide, phlebotomist, or EKG technician preferred.
