About the position
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) role involves providing essential clinical and non-clinical support to patients in a medical/surgical setting. The PCT will work under supervision to assist with patient care activities, ensuring a clean and safe environment while documenting necessary records and reporting any changes in patient conditions to nursing staff.
Responsibilities
- Aid with movement and placement of patients.
- Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
- Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Document necessary records.
- Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintain medical equipment.
- Perform emergency department specific care/duties as assigned within scope of job.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a Patient Care Training program highly preferred, but not required.
- Minimum six months experience preferred, but not required.
- Nursing Assistant Certification preferred.
- BLS Certification required after 30 days of employment.
