About the position

The Patient Care Technician position at MD Anderson Cancer Center on the G17 Stem Cell Transplantation & Cellular Therapy unit is responsible for providing essential patient care services under the supervision of a registered nurse. This role directly impacts patient comfort and outcomes, particularly for those undergoing advanced therapies such as immunotherapy and CARTOX therapy. The unit is a specialized 48-bed facility that administers research protocols and participates in Phase 1 clinical trials, requiring staff to undergo additional training to deliver exceptional care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completion of activities of daily living for patients.
• Support patient mobilization and assist with admit/discharge processes.
• Obtain and record vital signs for patients.
• Update and retrieve patient information as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly patient environment.
• Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary care team to address patient care needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of recent experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant or a CNA certification.
• Ability to pass pre-employment skills test as required by Human Resources.
