About the position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) in Cardiac Care is responsible for assisting nursing staff with various patient care activities to ensure the comfort and personal needs of patients are met. This role involves direct patient interaction, including hygiene assistance, vital sign monitoring, and support with meals, all under the supervision of a registered nurse or supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing service personnel with patient care activities.
• Help with personal hygiene and comfort of patients.
• Take and record vital signs.
• Change bed linens and maintain cleanliness in patient areas.
• Serve and collect food trays and provide nourishment between meals.
• Clean, sterilize, store, and prepare medical supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of related experience in patient care.
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in healthcare.
