The Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Jackson Hospital & Clinic plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities

  • Utilizes appropriate communication and displays compassion in exceeding customer expectations.
  • Applies principles of teamwork and quality to job responsibilities and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Collects, reports, and documents patient data accurately in a timely fashion according to nursing policy.
  • Performs ancillary testing including blood draws, oxygen set-ups, and EKGs.
  • Completes assigned tasks and communicates patient responses to care provided to the RN accurately and timely.
  • Responsible for knowledge, care, and troubleshooting of equipment specific to the Emergency Department.
  • Maintains personal competency and meets educational requirements for new equipment and procedures.
  • Understands and follows health standards related to risk management, safety, and infection control.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Patient Care Manager or other leadership roles.
  • Adheres to professional standards and healthcare regulations to promote safety and quality patient care.
