About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) role at DaVita is a full-time position focused on providing direct patient care in an outpatient dialysis center. This position is crucial for supporting patients with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease, allowing them to receive safe and hygienic dialysis treatment. PCTs will work closely with a cross-functional team and are expected to build long-term relationships with patients while ensuring their comfort and safety during treatment.

Requirements

• Desire to enter the healthcare field and care for others.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable working around blood and needles.
• Ability to mix acid or bicarb safely.
• Physical and mental ability to work long hours on your feet (10-12 hour shifts).
• Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics as needed.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word and Outlook.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct one-on-one patient care during dialysis treatment.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis, including measuring and recording vital statistics.
• Set up dialysis machines and ensure proper functioning during treatments.
• Build long-term relationships with patients undergoing treatment 2-3 times a week.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of clinicians, including nurses, dietitians, and social workers.
