About the position

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Fresenius Medical Care, you will play a vital role in supporting patients with kidney disease and their families. This position involves providing safe and effective dialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse, building strong relationships with patients, and contributing to a collaborative healthcare team. Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Set up, test, and operate hemodialysis machines for patient treatments.
  • Obtain and document necessary pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight for each patient.
  • Evaluate vascular access pre-treatment and perform vascular access cannulation.
  • Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy and evaluate intradialytic problems.
  • Report any significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to supervisor.
  • Enter all treatment data into the designated clinical application accurately and timely.
  • Collect, label, prepare, and store lab samples according to required specifications.
  • Clean and disinfect dialysis machine surfaces and surrounding areas between treatments.
  • Assist other healthcare members in providing patient education.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Dependable, compassionate, caring, supportive, collaborative, and reliable traits.
  • Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility (preferred but not required).
  • Successful completion of the Fresenius Medical Care dialysis training program and CPR certification.
