About the position
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) role at Total Renal Care involves providing comprehensive dialysis care to patients in a skilled nursing facility (SNF). The position requires a commitment to patient care, collaboration with nursing staff, and the ability to work autonomously in a complex healthcare environment. The PCT will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive safe and effective dialysis treatment while maintaining a hygienic and supportive atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct one-on-one patient care during dialysis treatment.
- Collaborate with dialysis RNs to ensure patient care is effective and meets clinical outcomes.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording vital statistics.
- Set up and manage hemodialysis machines and equipment.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and hygienic environment for patients during treatment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current and valid Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) certification.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook.
