About the position

DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide compassionate care in an outpatient dialysis center, making a significant difference in the lives of patients with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. This role offers an opportunity to start a career in healthcare with extensive paid training, allowing PCTs to develop essential skills and build a professional network. The position involves direct patient care, monitoring patients during dialysis treatment, and working as part of a holistic care team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct one-on-one patient care during dialysis treatment.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis, including measuring and recording vital statistics.
  • Set up hemodialysis machines and ensure safe and hygienic treatment.
  • Educate patients on kidney dialysis-related topics and build long-term relationships with them.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of clinicians, including nurses, dietitians, and social workers.

Requirements

  • Desire to enter the healthcare field and care for others.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Ability to mix acid or bicarbonate solutions.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours, including shifts of 12+ hours.

  • Previous experience in healthcare (not required but preferred).
