About the position

DaVita is seeking Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to provide essential hemodialysis treatment to patients with end-stage renal disease. This role involves direct patient care, monitoring patients during treatment, and ensuring a safe and hygienic environment. The position offers comprehensive training and clear pathways for career advancement, including support for obtaining nursing licenses and leadership roles within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Administer hemodialysis treatment to patients.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
  • Measure and record patient statistics and observations.
  • Set up and maintain hemodialysis machines.
  • Educate patients about kidney disease and treatment processes.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals including nurses, dietitians, and social workers.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve patient care processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Desire to enter the healthcare field and care for patients.
  • Comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Ability to mix acid or bicarbonate solutions.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physical and mental stamina to work long hours on your feet.

Nice-to-haves

  • Health care experience such as BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
