Joining DaVita as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) offers an exciting opportunity to start a career in the healthcare industry. PCTs will engage in hands-on patient care, monitor patients during dialysis treatment, and build long-term relationships with patients suffering from end-stage renal disease. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct one-on-one patient care during dialysis treatment.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis, including measuring and recording vital statistics.
  • Set up hemodialysis machines and ensure patient safety and comfort during treatment.
  • Educate patients on kidney dialysis-related topics and build long-term relationships with them.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of clinicians, including nurses, dietitians, and social workers.

Requirements

  • Desire to enter the healthcare field and care for others.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Ability to mix acid or bicarb safely.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours on your feet.

Nice-to-haves

  • Health care experience such as BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
