About the position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) role at DaVita is a vital position in an outpatient dialysis center, focused on providing compassionate care to patients suffering from end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on patients' lives while building a career in the healthcare industry. With comprehensive training provided, PCTs will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and support to patients during their dialysis treatments.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct one-on-one patient care during dialysis treatment.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis, including measuring and recording vital statistics.
• Set up hemodialysis machines and ensure safe and hygienic treatment environments.
• Educate patients on kidney dialysis-related topics and build long-term relationships with them.
• Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of clinicians, including nurses, dietitians, and social workers.

Requirements

• Desire to enter the healthcare field and care for others in need.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable working around blood and needles.
• Ability to mix acid or bicarb as required.
• Physical and mental ability to work long hours, including shifts of 12+ hours.

Nice-to-haves

• Health care experience such as BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
