About the position

DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide compassionate care in an outpatient dialysis center. This role is essential in supporting patients with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease, allowing them to receive life-sustaining treatment. The PCT will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals, including nurses and dietitians, to ensure high-quality patient care. This position offers extensive training and opportunities for career advancement within the healthcare field.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct one-on-one patient care during dialysis treatment.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis, including measuring and recording vital statistics.
• Set up hemodialysis machines and ensure safe and hygienic treatment environments.
• Educate patients on kidney dialysis-related topics and build long-term relationships with them.
• Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of clinicians under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Requirements

• Desire to enter the healthcare field and care for others.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable working around blood and needles.
• Ability to mix acid or bicarb as required for treatment.
• Physical and mental ability to work long hours, including shifts of 12+ hours.

Nice-to-haves

• Health care experience such as BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
