About the position

DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide compassionate care in an outpatient dialysis center, making a significant difference in the lives of patients with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. This role offers an opportunity to start a career in healthcare with extensive training and support, working alongside a dedicated team of professionals. PCTs will engage in direct patient care, monitor treatment, and build long-term relationships with patients while contributing to a holistic care environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct one-on-one patient care during dialysis treatment.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis, including measuring and recording vital statistics.
• Set up hemodialysis machines and ensure safe, comfortable, and hygienic treatment.
• Educate patients on kidney dialysis-related topics.
• Build long-term relationships with patients receiving treatment.
• Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of clinicians under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Requirements

• Desire to enter the healthcare field and care for others.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable working around blood and needles.
• Ability to mix acid or bicarb safely.
• Physical and mental ability to work long hours, including shifts of 12+ hours.
• Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics as needed.

Nice-to-haves

• Health care experience such as BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
