About the position

The Patient Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for patients within a healthcare setting. This position involves managing patient referrals, coordinating appointments, and handling administrative tasks to support the overall operations of the Pharmacy. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a solid understanding of medical terminology and multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with referral sources and patients to set up home infusions.
• Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments to optimize pharmacy workflow.
• Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history.
• Utilize software systems such as Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Outlook for patient records management.
• Maintain organized patient files and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans, follow-up appointments, and any necessary documentation.
• Assist in administrative tasks such as answering phones, responding to inquiries, and managing correspondence.
• Assist in the hiring of new employees and HR related assignments.
• Collaborate with case managers and nurses to facilitate seamless patient care.

Requirements

• 1 year of patient care experience
• 1 year of office management experience
• 1 year of human resources management experience
• Strong communication skills
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other software systems

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with pharmacy environments and administrative processes
• Strong typing skills, including 10 key typing accuracy for data entry tasks
• Experience with software systems like Microsoft Teams
