The coordinator will handle patient appointments, medical billing, and ensure compliance with coding standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient appointments and manage scheduling to optimize clinic workflow.
• Assist patients with the completion of necessary forms and documentation.
• Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Handle medical billing processes, including coding for services rendered using ICD-9 and ICD-10 standards.
• Manage medical collections by following up on outstanding accounts and resolving billing issues.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their inquiries, appointment details, and insurance information.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation of patient care.
• Stay updated on changes in medical coding practices and regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and coding practices is essential.
• Experience with medical billing processes and collections is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) classifications is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective patient interaction.
