Through various sponsorship programs, Medicaid screening, and premium monitoring, we empower patients to secure the coverage and care they need to regain their health and stability. The Patient Insurance Advocate plays a crucial role in this mission by enrolling patients in ACA Marketplace plans. This is an onsite position that requires the employee to report to their assigned hospital daily, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM CST. While the position may allow for temporary remote work until credentialing is completed, it typically requires in-person attendance. Additionally, the role may necessitate occasional work on weekends and holidays, particularly during peak times such as Open Enrollment, when overtime may be required. The advocate will be responsible for calling patients to screen them for financial and medical criteria, guiding them through the enrollment process, and assisting with any issues that may arise with the Marketplace and insurance companies. Staying informed about changes to ACA marketplace plans and policies is essential, as is performing bedside screenings when applicable. The advocate will also be tasked with daily follow-ups on assigned accounts, responding to emails and phone messages promptly, and documenting patient information within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Participation in required meetings and webinars, as well as providing necessary data for tracking conversions, will also be part of the job.
