About the position

The Patient Liaison at Calstro Hospice Inc. is responsible for managing all aspects of the organization's marketing efforts. This role focuses on establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and referral sources, educating them about the Medicare Hospice Benefit, and facilitating the intake process. The Patient Liaison will work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure seamless operations and compliance with regulations while promoting the hospice services offered by the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Employ effective communication techniques with families, facilities, and community partners to educate on the Medicare Hospice Benefit.
  • Ensure staff adherence to laws and regulations regarding marketing activities and patient solicitation.
  • Educate patients and families on their rights and responsibilities regarding hospice care and financial obligations prior to enrollment.
  • Assist the Performance Improvement team in evaluating and improving operational processes for compliance.
  • Conduct market assessments and develop a comprehensive marketing plan to meet budgetary projections.
  • Implement marketing initiatives to achieve budgetary volume goals.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with referral and payer sources.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to ensure a seamless intake and admission process.
  • Conduct in-services with community partners as requested.
  • Monitor community perceptions of Calstro Hospice Inc. as a quality service provider.
  • Provide leadership in strategic planning to identify opportunities for service improvement.
  • Maintain knowledge of Calstro Hospice Inc. markets, including government agencies and competitor positioning.
  • Share marketing knowledge with appropriate personnel within the organization.
  • Assist customers in accessing community resources when services are not provided by Calstro Hospice Inc.
  • Facilitate communication between community partners to ensure safe patient discharge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Ability to market aggressively and engage tactfully with customers and the community.
  • Knowledge of the Medicare Hospice Benefit is a plus.
  • Demonstrated communication, negotiation, and public relations skills.
  • Exhibit autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation in job responsibilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of marketing experience (preferred)
  • 1 year of healthcare experience (required)
  • 1 year of experience with EOB (preferred)
