About the position
The Patient Liaison plays a crucial role in initiating patient intake processes, coordinating referrals, and managing patient appointments. This position requires effective communication and organizational skills to ensure timely access to medical records and necessary authorizations, while also maintaining accurate patient data in the clinic's databases.
Responsibilities
- Initiate patient intake and coordinate referral processes.
- Obtain medical records and authorization information from referral sources.
- Make patient appointments for specified clinic locations.
- Accurately enter patient demographics, insurance information, and referral source data into clinic databases.
- Receive and coordinate inbound referral calls and appointments.
- Document work processes as required and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Previous experience in a medical group practice or hospital environment
- Customer service phone experience in a high call volume setting
- Knowledge of contracted insurance plans and procedures
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task efficiently
- Ability to act calmly in busy or stressful situations
- Bilingual required
