The HCA South Florida Transfer Center handles the patient movement and logistics for over 34 HCA hospitals and free-standing emergency rooms across the east and west Florida divisions. Our mission is to assist in the clinical placement and movement of critical patients both into and out of our facilities providing timely access to care for our patients when minutes matter the most. The transfer center is staffed 24/7 with seasoned clinical professionals who collaborate between physicians, hospitals, and other immediate health care settings to coordinate the timely movement of high acuity patients such as STEMI, stroke, trauma, neonatal care, and so forth. In this role, you will perform daily assignments in the Transfer Center or Centralized Patient Placement call queue. You will assist in the management activities and provide leadership, which facilitates the processes associated with direct admissions, hospital transfers, and patient placement in an appropriate hospital. You will coordinate ambulance transfers from the HCA Healthcare hospitals to other facilities and post-acute care providers. You will exercise management responsibilities as delegated by the Corporate and Divisional Transfer Center Manager, Director, or AVP. Your duties will include performing Transfer Center duties across all transfer centers within the HCA enterprise, allocating shift assignments daily based on needs across the enterprise, maintaining and making shift adjustments within UCCE/Telephony attributes, overseeing daily operations consistent with departmental goals, and monitoring the orientation of new staff through collaboration with preceptors. You will also complete initial reviews of service inquiries and recoveries and communicate results with TC leadership, serve as the primary point of contact in the absence of the HCA Clinical manager, assist management with scheduling and covering open shifts, and be responsible for QA/QI of data, phone calls, and reports. Additionally, you will strive to improve current operations by identifying inefficiencies and meet with leadership regularly to effectively communicate and resolve issues, both at the corporate level and division transfer center level.
