About the position

The Patient Logistics Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring timely and efficient patient care within HCA Healthcare's Patient Logistic Center. This position involves coordinating patient movement and logistics across multiple healthcare facilities, focusing on high-acuity patients and collaborating with clinical professionals to facilitate admissions and discharges.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to phone calls demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
• Gather information for clinicians to initiate assessments.
• Locate available resources and coordinate information to support patient disposition.
• Coordinate with appropriate parties and physicians throughout the patient response inquiry, admission, treatment, and discharge process.
• Track and report on key indicators related to calls, assessments, and admissions.
• Develop reports outlining activities including volume, response time, and outcomes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required; higher education in behavioral health or emergency medical field is preferred.
• 1-3 years' experience in a behavioral healthcare setting performing clinical assessments or in a clinical treatment setting for non-nurses.
• For RN candidates, 3-5 years' experience in an inpatient setting handling crisis assessments is required.
