About the position

The Navigator position at Mercy is an entry-level role focused on facilitating patient and family experiences within the vAcute virtual acute care department. This team operates 24/7 to provide immediate medical assistance and coordinate care for patients outside of hospital settings. The role involves answering calls, providing compassionate service, and ensuring effective communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate patient and family experiences at Mercy Virtual by providing coordinated service.
  • Answer telephone calls from patients and families in the Mercy Virtual vAcute Program.
  • Perform duties in alignment with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Medical Office, Emergency Department, or Hospital.
  • High school diploma required.
  • BLS certification required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with triage software and electronic medical records.
