About the position

The Patient Representative (OA) serves as a key support role within the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) at Lyster Army Medical Center, Fort Novosel. This position is responsible for assisting patients with their medical inquiries and concerns, safeguarding their rights, and ensuring effective communication between patients and medical services. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients by contacting medical services offices on their behalf.
• Handle special situations for which no established mechanism exists.
• Safeguard the ethical, statutory, and constitutional rights of patients.
• Respond to inquiries from the Inspector General's Office.
• Gather information on Congressional or Inspector General inquiries.
• Operate a computer with word processing and other software to prepare a variety of materials.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience in the Federal service, including operating a computer with word processing software, responding to inquiries from institutions like the Inspector General's Office, and assisting patients with problem-solving.
• Experience must be clearly described in the resume, including hours worked per week and dates of employment.
