About the position

The Patient Research Specialist at Digitech is responsible for supporting the Patient Billing Department by gathering and entering necessary information related to private pay patients. This remote position requires attention to detail and some billing experience, ensuring timely payment of EMS claims while adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Gather and enter necessary patient information and demographics for EMS claims payment.
• Work internally to understand departmental interactions for efficient claims processing.
• Collaborate with external parties such as hospitals, insurance providers, and attorneys to obtain patient information.
• Search various websites and hospital systems for additional patient data needed for claims processing.
• Handle correspondence via mail, email, and telephone as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Some billing experience is required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to handle a heavy workload and meet deadlines.
• Computer literacy and ability to work with two monitors.
• Pleasant and professional phone manner.
• Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively with internal departments.
• Strong follow-through and accountability for work.
