About the position

The Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) plays a crucial role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care by continuously observing and monitoring high-risk patients. This position collaborates with the patient care team to ensure a safe environment, minimizing the risk of falls and self-harm, while also assisting with basic daily living activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a direct line of sight with the patient at all times, including during family visits.
• Accompany patients to ensure safety during transportation, testing, and procedures away from their normal environment.
• Promote positive patient interactions to enhance patient service.
• Serve as a resource to department staff, students, volunteers, and other departments to ensure quality patient care.
• Monitor the physical and emotional condition of patients and report any changes promptly while maintaining direct observation.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire
• De-Escalation Training within 90 days of hire
• 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.

Nice-to-haves
