About the position
The Level II Patient Scheduler position at Essentia Health involves pre-registering and scheduling patients for various appointments, procedures, and tests in a professional and timely manner. This role requires effective communication with patient care teams to ensure optimal patient care and involves handling a high volume of calls and scheduling tasks in a complex environment.
Responsibilities
- Patient identification, registration, and scheduling.
- Completing after visit summaries with cost estimates.
- Patient checkout and scheduling follow-up appointments as per physician's orders.
- Coordinating scheduling of services including ancillary and procedure scheduling.
- Handling incoming calls and managing follow-up and referral work queues.
- Accurately entering data into the electronic health record while communicating with patients.
- Supporting Population Management and Chronic Disease Management initiatives through patient registry and outbound calling.
- Performing other clerical duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1 year of clinical healthcare experience OR 1 year experience as a Patient Scheduler I OR 1 year experience in a contact/call center.
