About The Position

The Patient Services Representative - Float Pool serves as the primary contact for patients and the community, responsible for processing patient referrals, registrations, and updating medical records. This part-time role emphasizes strong communication and customer service skills, ensuring efficient patient flow and addressing any issues that arise.

Requirements

• High School Degree or GED.
• Prior experience in the healthcare field or a related area is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred but not required.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge in Microsoft Office, Cadence, and Connect care preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for all patients and the community.
• Receive and process patient referrals and registrations.
• Verify patient demographics and obtain insurance information.
• Schedule appointments and transcribe orders.
• Explain financial options to patients and update medical records accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients respectfully.
• Process admission paperwork and perform basic insurance verification.
• Answer internal and external calls in a friendly manner.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Coordinate and prioritize bed placement needs.
