About the position

The Patient Service Representative at Moyes Eye Center is a full-time role focused on delivering exceptional customer service and support to patients in a fast-paced ophthalmology practice. The representative will be responsible for managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and ensuring continuity of care through effective communication and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls and schedule patients for appropriate physicians.
  • Respond effectively to incoming patient calls and communicate pertinent information to designee to provide for continuity and optimal care.
  • Support the clinical team in chart preparation and requests for medical information.
  • Document pertinent patient information in the electronic medical record as it relates to job function.
  • Coordinate with various providers, team members, and outreach team regarding scheduling.
  • Use, protect, and disclose patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer experience in an ophthalmology practice.
  • Experience with Nexgten Scheduling system is preferred.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
