About the position

The Patient Service Representative I plays a crucial role in the front office of a medical practice, providing administrative support to physicians and staff. This position involves managing patient appointments, ensuring efficient check-in and check-out processes, and delivering excellent customer service in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule appointments using a multi-line telephone system.
  • Check in patients for their appointments and check them out at the end of their visits.
  • Greet and assist patients and other customers professionally and efficiently.
  • Ensure timely delivery of patient services.
  • Verify patient insurance information.
  • Collect copays and outstanding balances.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the Office Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience in a medical environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
  • Familiarity with office equipment and medical terminology.
