About the position

The Patient Service Representative in the OBGYN department at BJC Medical Group serves as the initial point of contact for patients, managing front office activities and directing patient flow. This full-time role involves performing patient check-ins, appointment scheduling, and maintaining financial records, all while ensuring a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Handles telephone calls from patients and staff; forwards calls requiring triage.
  • Performs receptionist duties with close attention to detail and professionalism.
  • Verifies health insurance payment information and educates patients on applicable regulations; collects payments and records data.
  • Performs data entry of service charges, including the assignment of diagnostic codes and entering all physician and clinic related charges.
  • Coordinates information with Central Billing Office to ensure all charges are captured and properly collected.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar role
